approach

Planning with Nature + Natural Gardens focus on regenerative ecological design, that provides design solutions, rooted in natural processes and natural aesthetic qualities.  The approach to design is to work with the latent potentials of the site; to work with nature and harness its regenerative power to restore, renew and to revitalise. By doing this, I believe that my designs are not only more resilient towards future unknowns, but also more suited to enriching our human experience, well-being and health within the integrity of nature.

I am a consultant specialising in ecological landscape architecture, water conservation, endemic plant propagation, and biodiversity in residential, commercial or conservation areas. Under the umbrella theme of resilience, I have conducted research into water wise development and design in urban and rural areas. As part of my drive towards building and improving the biodiversity of the natural environment, I also propagate indigenous South African bulbs and seedlings .  I look forward to regenerating your landscape into something that nature would have designed.

Planning with Nature  focus on where the potential of your developments, urban planning proposals or environmental and ecosystem policies for regenerative planning and development, in the context of resilience are identified.  This is done by understanding the vulnerabilities in the system and assessing the lack of  or presence of the principles of resilience in order to direct  future planning for resilience and eventually sustainable development.
